Throwing LED lights into your custom-built gaming PC just doesn't cut it anymore. You gotta outfit it with a see-through screen that makes it look like it has holograms inside of it.

That's exactly what somebody did with a custom PC making the rounds in Japan. Installing a transparent LCD monitor on the side of a PC that plays a video of the fictional, anime-esque singer Hatsune Miku, the modder made it appear like she's a hologram dancing inside the PC.

It's a very impressive visual trick, and with the stage-like setup inside the PC, it looks pretty convincing.

This particular PC was shown off at a meet-up for custom PC builders and modders in Osaka, Japan, and will be moving around to different PC events throughout the rest of the country.

The Hatsune Miku hologram PC has been a work in progress for a few months. An earlier version of the PC from July featured a transparent screen with the singer dancing on it, but the screen was a bit more obvious and the lack of stage made it less convincing.

Of course, if you can get your hands on a transparent LCD monitor for your own custom PC, you can put whatever video you want on it. The possibilities are endless.
